Superstar Collection: Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston

MATCH #1: Intercontinental Championship Match – Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, Night of Champions, 6.29.08

Jericho has been the champion since 3.10.08, and this is his fourth defense. Jericho’s opponent was not announced ahead of time, so he had no time to prepare. Jericho was in the midst of his eighth Intercontinental Title reign, and he had just recently turned heel on Shawn Michaels. Lance Cade has accompanied Jericho to ringside. Jericho cuts an anti-HBK promo, since he isn’t in attendance tonight. They start with some chain wrestling, and Jericho tries to intimidate the young Kingston. The challenger comes back with some of his unusual and high-flying offense so Jericho takes a powder. Kingston doesn’t give him a break though, hitting a slingshot dive and throwing Jericho back in the ring. He hits a cross body block off the top rope for two. Kingston tries his punches in the corner but Jericho dumps him to the floor. Jericho follows him outside and rams him into the apron twice. Back in the ring Jericho works on Kingston’s back and acts like a jerk. He puts on the abdominal stretch. Kingston gets out but Jericho is able to thwart all of his offensive attacks. Jericho tries a super back suplex but Kingston reverses the momentum and falls on top for a cover and gets a near fall. Kingston tries his legdrop but Jericho blocks it and tries the Walls of Jericho and Kingston gets a small package for two. Now he hits the double legdrop but only gets two. A rana gets two. Jericho comes back with a clothesline and some kicks. He hits the Lionsault and then puts on the Walls of Jericho. The crowd is going crazy, because Shawn Michaels is in the building! Superstar Collection: John Cena

Superstar Collection John Cena

MATCH #1: World Heavyweight Championship Match – John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Armageddon, 12.14.08

Cena has been the champion since 11.23.08, and this is his first defense. They fiercely lockup to start the match, and Jericho goes right to the headlock. Jericho gets the early advantage, but Cena quickly comes back with a takedown and a series of right hands. The challenger tries to regroup on the floor but Cena chases him out. Jericho attacks Cena on his way back into the ring and goes to work. Cena powers out of a chinlock with an F-U attempt, but Jericho counters to a DDT. They fight on the apron, where Cena catches Jericho off the top rope and tries another F-U. Jericho avoids this one too, and delivers a bulldog off the ring apron to the steps. Back in the ring Jericho gets a two-count. The challenger gets a few minutes of offense before Cena comes back with his flurry. He hits the You Can’t See Me and once again tries the F-U. Jericho almost counters to the Walls of Jericho, but Cena powers out and hits a belly-to-belly suplex for two. The challenger comes back with a missile dropkick for two. Cena tries the Throwback but Jericho avoids it and hits a Lionsault for two. Continue reading

WWE Bragging Rights 2009

Mellon Arena – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, and Todd Grisham are on commentary. The ropes are half blue and half red, which looks awesome.

MATCH #1: Champion vs. Champion Raw vs. Smackdown Bragging Rights Match – John Morrison vs. The Miz

John Morrison is an unfortunately terrible talker. I also feel a little bad for Marty Jannetty that he kept getting used as a punch line in this feud. They lock up intensely and Morrison scores the first takedown. Miz tries to come back but Morrison is all over him. Morrison continues to badger Miz, so the U.S. Champion takes a quick powder. It doesn’t do any good though as Morrison takes him down again and hits a standing shooting star press for two. Miz comes back and forces Morrison into the corner and then hurls him to the floor. Morrison sneaks back in the ring with a sunset flip for two. Miz goes for the kneelift but Morrison blocks it and clotheslines Miz to the floor. Morrison hits a baseball slide to knock Miz down.
